MVIRS Features
MVIRS is a Microsoft Windows ® program for recording Pennsylvania safety inspections. Using a barcode scanner, it captures customer and vehicle information from the PA Owner's Registration Card, and provides a single screen where the results of all safety inspection points are entered. When entry of the inspection is complete, a professional-looking Customer Inspection Report can be printed for the customer. When 10 inspections have been recorded, the MV-431/MV-480 report can be printed on 8-1/2" x 11" plain paper, three-hole punched, and saved in a 3-ring binder. MV-431 and MV-480 reports can reprinted for PennDOT Quality Assurance Officers or State Police at any time, for any period in time.
- Direct Integration with Shop Management Systems
Customer, vehicle and repair order are automatically created without requiring the shop management program to be open. MVIRS provides a list of selectable repair order items for use in automatically calculating the safety inspection Total Cost Plus Tax figure. Inspection results are automatically posted to the finished invoice. Shop Management Integration is currently available for Mitchell 1 Manager 5.9 and ShopKey Service Writer 5.9. - Full Support for New Inspections and Sticker Replacements on All Types of Vehicles
Implements of husbandry, emergency vehicles, and vehicles registered with combined weights are also supported. - Support for Enhanced Safety Inspection Stations
RECON, SPECON and MODIFY inspections can be recorded, and the MV-426B can be printed with most information automatically included. - Inspection History
Every inspection ever recorded in MVIRS can be found in seconds. Inspections can be searched for by registrant, plate, sticker number, VIN or work order. - Easily Create Reports
With MVIRS you can easily create any of the following reports and more.
(NOTE: All report information shown is fictitious.)
- Inspection Reminders/Mailing Labels
After the first year of MVIRS use, mailing labels can be printed for each vehicle coming due for inspection in a given month, based upon the expiration of the previous sticker. Alternatively, inspection reminders can easily be e-mailed directly from MVIRS at no cost. Mailing labels can also be printed for all customers or alphabetic groups of customers, for advertising specials, holiday greetings, etc. - Sticker Management
Each batch of stickers received from PennDOT is recorded in MVIRS. When an inspection is finished, the next available sticker is assigned. When the last sticker of a batch is assigned, the next new batch is made current. MVIRS can print the MV-436A (sticker order form) with all information included. Stickers can be voided, or marked missing, stolen or unused. - Integrated Backup and Restore
Backups can be periodically and automatically uploaded to the MVIRS Service Center (at no additional charge), protecting your state inspection data from catastrophic loss such as fire or flood. - New Inspections are Easy to Record:
- Scan the Owner Registration Card.
- If the insurance policy has not already been entered for a previous inspection, enter the insurance NAIC code, policy number and expiration date.
